how to make lanyard
Lanyard was invented so that people do not have to carry a thing with difficulty like sward if carried by hands for long time then they will start paining. Lanyard is basically a simple piece of plastic strip or cloth or even rope of jute or some other material with knots in it in such a manner that the lanyard could hold certain things easily and efficiently.
Then twist the circular ring to form 8. After reducing the length to the desired length a person can now start the final step of forming the loop, which will hold the thing that the person wants to hand with braiding lanyard. Again form a circle and then twist to form 8. Now raise the north end from the center, up straight.
Arbitrarily name one end to be north and respectively south, east and west. Now pull the west over the south and south over the east and east over the south and south over the west. After this stretch the string tightly.
Why Use Custom Lanyards?
You can use a custom lanyard with a photo id or badge. Lanyards are great for keeping your badge or photo id in a secure place. Also, lanyards are available in wide variety of colors, styles and sizes pretty much any style size or color that will fit in with you, your logo or event.
Custom Lanyards can be made from cloth, plastic or metal. Cloth neck lanyards are the most common type of lanyard used. Lanyards are a must have for many employees. For trade shows, lots of people use lanyards for trade shows for a couple of different reasons.
# 1 - they give lanyards out upon arrival and people will walk around wearing your lanyard with your logo on it. More great exposure for you!
#2 - people can use sequential numbered lanyards, and when they do this, you can do a raffle, and raffle off something of value for a given number. Many companies have started manufacturing recycled lanyards. Each and every lanyard comes with a specific attachment to the bottom of the lanyard. There’s also many different widths that the lanyards are sold in. There are cheap and expensive lanyards. Now a cheap lanyard would bring you down to that shoelace type lanyard with a one color imprint. You can go with a more expensive lanyard, which would be a dye sublimated on which you could use a four color imprint and you could also make that lanyard a break away lanyard.

In learning how to make lanyards it is important to choose the right material. A popular lanyard making material is a thin, elastic, and flexible plastic lace. It is readily available at most craft stores and referred to as craftlace, lanyard, gimp, or boondoggle.
There are many different stitches that can be used to make or braid a lanyard. Many braiding techniques are complex and time consuming. One of the simpler braids is referred to as a crown (or round) knot. One must utilize patience and follow directions carefully in learning how to make lanyards. The basic crown knot is as follows:
To begin, take two strands of craftlace, fold them together (length will depend on the type of lanyard) and tie a knot at toward the top to hold them securely together. You now have four strings secured at the top.
Spread the four strings apart, separately, pointing in each cardinal direction of a compass. Hold the “west” string with one finger (close to the knot). At the same time, pull the “west” string over the “north” string.
Continuing on, cross the “north” string” over the “east” string. At this point the “north” string is covering both the “west” string and the “east” string. Now cross the “east” string over the “south” string. Finally, cross the “south” string over the “west” string.
At this point pull each end of the four string extremely tight to make the first knot. Continue crossing the strings in the same manner until the desired length is reached. The knots will produce a rounded lanyard.
